At Key Stage Four, we follow the EDUQAS Media Studies course. GCSE Media requires the students to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding throughout the course in their study of:-
- Media Language and Representation
- Media Industries and Audience
- Media Forms and Products
- The Creation of Media Products
Assessment takes place through two 90 minute terminal examinations. Component 1 – Exploring the Media is 40% of the final qualification. Component 2 – Understanding Media Forms and Products is 30% of the final qualification. Students also undertake a non-examined assessment on the creation of a media product. The unit (Component 3) is worth 30% and is internally marked and externally moderated.
